Fireworks in Boston

My girls and I went to Boston and stayed with my sister and her boyfriend.  My dad was there to take us to the Charles River Sailing Club B-B-Q and fireworks display.

We sat in the boats and listened to the Pops and watched the fireworks.

We  also did some good shopping on Newbury St., strolled through the Boston Commons and I took a ton of pictures.

Oh and of course I bought yarn at Windsor Button shop, which has been there since 1936 or so.  My sister spoiled us all with massages, since she is a massage therapist.  We also made and ate her famous crack brownies!

Also on the must see list was Chihuly glass at the MFA in Boston.

A Taste of Florida

My girls and I went to St. Petersburg , FL last week and it was sunny and beautiful.  We hit the beach,

Beachthe town, and saw the girls’ grandma.  We also went on a nature preserve tour, and saw many lovely birds. We got to see the new Rio movie, and saw animated birds doing actual Samba!  It was a very fun movie.  We went to the Morean and saw the gorgeous Chihuly exhibit, and then the hot shop for glass blowing demo.  Click on the images to make them bigger.

We shopped at the greatest old (since 1933) bookstore, where a kitty named Teacup resides.

The store is called Haslam’s and is famous.  Our rental was right on the bay and looked like a Pottery Barn ad-gorgeous and spacious.

I did yoga on the huge outdoor patio with the little lizards and parrots.  I came home rested and inspired to finish my current art quilt called Dolphins Rising.
